Does your Minor Hockey Association want to offer goalie clinics to their goaltenders?
We offer Minor Hockey Association clinics throughout the year. Typically, we schedule weekly clinics for each association and our instructors go out and help their goalies up their game!
Ideally, the MHA gets the ice and we can customize a clinic setup, but normally book 2 instructors for an hour on ice working with up to 12 goalies.
Gold in the Net has the programming and experience to complete goalie evaluations for the
upcoming hockey season with fair and impartial judgment whereby each goalie would be
evaluated and graded at various levels.
GITN handles all goalie evaluations with a unique system that is a proven process that offers up
a fair and impartial evaluation of each goaltender in attendance. The evaluation itself retains all
kinds of value to the coach’s selecting teams as well as the goalies themselves who will be able
to use the information for developmental needs for their future as well as the directions of the
training being established by the association.
Gold in the Net has designed and prepared the goalie only evaluation sessions to be followed.
Each drill has been carefully selected to show off skills required to play the position effectively.
We would watch goalies run the drills, give an accurate evaluation, and calculate a final score for
each goalie.
Sometimes teams that are highly motivated to improve their goalie development prefer to have
goalie coach attend a teams practice from time to time. We are happy to provide a certified staff
member to attend team practices to provide private training for the team’s goalies.
GITN unique tactical approach for team practices has the certified GITN instructor working
alongside the coach to analyze the practice plan prior to the session. This will allow the instructor
to identify areas that the goalies can focus on during the overall team drills during the practice.
What this means for the coach is that having a GITN instructor out at practice is not as demanding
on the team as one might surmise. In most cases the instructor will not require more than 15
minutes of one on one with the goalies should he have the practice plan ahead of time.
This is further explained to the coaches during our coaching seminar we conduct for all of our
hockey association’s that we work with. We offer special discounts for associations that have us
under contract to work seasonally with their goalies. As shown in the coaching clinic section.
Coaches often want to support their goalies but may lack the specific knowledge and expertise required to effectively do so. By providing comprehensive guidance, we can profoundly change how coaches approach their role, not only in coaching but also in managing goalies.
Our approach enables coaches within your association to clearly define their responsibilities when their goalie takes the ice. Emphasizing throughout our coaching education is the understanding that our goal is not to turn coaches into goalie specialists. Instead, we aim to foster an environment where every athlete, including goalies, can learn, improve, and maintain active communication, thus enhancing their overall team involvement.
